Everyone Plays! Lake Antoine Park Playground - A new playground designed with everyone in mind.

Lake Antoine Park is one of the few and unique spaces in Dickinson County that offers beach access and amenities, as well as a playground for young park-goers to enjoy. The park receives upwards of 5,000 visitors of all ages from June to August alone!

Lake Antoine Park is special, albeit imperfect. For years, areas of the park were not ADA accessible, notably the beach and playground area. In 2017, local citizens founded a 501c3 non-profit organization, Lake Antoine Park Partners (LAPP) and set out to enhance the park using only grants and community donations to fund the projects.

Since then, LAPP has made great strides in promoting and improving the park with community events and the addition of amenities. In 2019, LAPP added a beach wall, ADA ramp, and Mobi- mat® to increase beach accessibility. More recently, we created an ADA picnic and beach viewing area for all people to enjoy the beauty of Lake Antoine.

But our work is not done! As it stands, the playground is largely inaccessible for those with limited mobility and/or sensory needs. For three years, LAPP has discussed a plan for an accessible playground addition. After countless hours of research and planning, we are proud to introduce our biggest project to date.

To ensure that the new playground area benefits as many people as possible, LAPP has received input from a variety of sources in our community--therapists, contractors, local parents and children, and accessible playground equipment manufacturers to name a few. Our goal is to give everyone easy access to the beach and playground ammenities with a variety of play options that all generations and abilities can enjoy!
