Refuse Service is Changing to GFL Environmental
📢 Important Refuse Service Update for Breitung Township Residents
We are pleased to announce that GFL Environmental will become the Township’s new garbage collection provider. Thank you for your patience as we work through this transition.

Waste Management will continue regular pick‑up through April 3, 2026
GFL Environmental service begins Monday, April 6, 2026
➡️ No interruption to weekly garbage collection
đź—‘ Garbage Cart Information The Township is purchasing the existing Waste Management carts and transferring them to GFL. This means:
You will keep your current cart
No large‑scale cart pickup/delivery
GFL will handle all future maintenance and replacements
More details will be shared as we get closer to the transition.
đźš› Route Changes Starting May 18, 2026
GFL will implement updated collection routes, and the Township will move from a 5‑day schedule to a 4‑day schedule.
Residents will receive updated pick‑up day information before the change takes effect.
