Cemetery Overview

The Quinnesec Cemetery is proudly the areas oldest cemetery, dating back to about 1877. Many of the original wooden head markers were lost in the Quinnesec Fire of 1906. The burial records still remain. This loss of head markers is what gives the “Original Plot” in the Cemetery its somewhat empty appearance. Additions to the cemetery on both the west and east have allowed for continued expansion. Residents and non-residents alike are still being laid to rest at this beautiful spot.

Please make note, all artificial and annual flowers on the ground must be removed from the cemetery by October 15th. Any items that are remaining after that date, will be disposed of by the Department of Public Works (DPW) crew. Winter grave blankets and wreaths may be placed anytime after that and need to be removed by April 1st.
